Willis P. Ross

Willis P. Ross, 85, of Hanover, beloved husband of Lillian ”Dolly” Owen Ross, entered into God’s eternal care while sleeping on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at his home.

Born on Friday, June 3, 1932 in Leeds, Quebec, Canada, he was a son of the late Wilson Harvey Ross and Lillian Eileen Ross. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Charles Ross and Junior “Jay” Ross and two sisters, Phyllis Eileen Edwards and Patricia Olive Nauf.

In 1985, he retired from the railroad industry after 37 years of service and was later involved in several entrepreneurial ventures. Willis was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church and was an avid golfer. He enjoyed snow skiing, taking part in card games and “playing the stock market”. Perhaps his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 62 years, are three children, Scot Andrew Ross and his wife, Lisa, of Ladera Ranch, CA, Gayle Lynn Julian and her husband, Wade, of Sykesville, MD, and Tracy Milburn Baker and her husband, Charles, of Marriottsville, MD; eight grandchildren, Stephanie, Mia and Ryan Ross, Dylan and Alexandra Julian, and Daniel, Hunter and Sierra Baker; two great-granddaughters, Laila and Scarlett; a brother, Jimmy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, October 5, 2017 at All Saints Episcopal Church, 890 McCosh Street, Hanover with The Rev. Liz Huskey Simmons officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Homewood at Plum Creek Benevolence Fund, 425 Westminster Avenue, Hanover, PA 17331.
