William “Tiny” Shisler, 72, husband of Kathleen Bowers Shisler, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Hanover Hospital.
Born on Thursday, November 23, 1944 in the Village of Horseheads, NY, he was a son of the late Edward A. Shisler, Jr. and Helen Isbell Shisler.
A 1962 graduate of Odessa High School in NY, he was a man of many talents. Extremely gifted with his hands, he enjoyed working on engines to rebuilding WWII airplanes. He started racing cars early in his life and later enjoyed tractor pulls. He raced Indy, sprint and stock cars, having shared the company of Joie Chitwood and others and also assisted friends with building monster trucks. He won multiple events in tractor pulls with his “Killer Bees” and “Aftershock” vehicles. He had a wild sense of humor and enjoyed practical jokes. He was friendly and met friends everywhere he went. He loved his dogs, Cimmaron, Tori and Nakoma.
In addition to his wife of 44 years, he is survived by two daughters, Tammy Shisler and her boyfriend, George Hawks of East Berlin and Barbara Shisler of Fawn Grove and her boyfriend, Matthew Schaefers of Railroad; three brothers, Lloyd Shisler and his wife, Flaye of NY, Kenneth Shisler and his wife, Dana of HI and David Shisler and his wife, Lynn of AL; several nieces and nephews.
