William Fowler, 98, of Hanover, previously of Baltimore, affectionately known as “Fowler”, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at UPMC Hanover Hospital.
Born on Thursday, January 11, 1923 in Baltimore, he was a son of the late William Edward and Addie Stepney Fowler. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Bowie Fowler; a brother, George Fowler; four sisters, Mildred Gross, Catherine Thornton, Blanche Palabon, and Ruth Williams.
A veteran of the United States Army, he worked at Mid City Junk in Baltimore alongside his father and as a maintenance worker for the Bethlehem Steel Company and the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore. Skilled with his hands, he enjoyed fishing, wine making, and replenishing vending machine to bring joy to children.
Survivors include four children, Louise Ann Alston and her husband, Tyrone, Roxann Carter and her husband, John, William Milton Fowler, Jr. and his wife, Denicia, and Anthony Michael Fowler and his wife, Cheryl Denise; nine grandchildren, Steven, Jamal, Ashley, Patryc, Antonia, Anthony, Danielle, Brandi and Jayda; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be held at a later date.
