William Earl Breeden, 79, of Hanover, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at The Village at Utz Terrace, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on Sunday, December 26, 1937 in Kearneysville, WV, he was the son of the late William D. and Elsie May Alger Breeden. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Sarah “Sally” Warner and Rebecca “Becky” Weeks. Bill was an employee of Black and Decker in Hampstead, MD with 31 years of service, and proudly served his country with the US Army Reserve. He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church. He enjoyed bird watching, going to auctions, listening to blue grass music, and spending time with his family.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 55 years, J. Octavia Troxell Breeden, are two children, William L. Breeden and wife, Christel, of Manchester, MD, and Sandra K. Reed of Owings Mills, MD; six grandchildren, Matthew T. Reed, Joseph W. Breeden, Emily A. Reed Fish and husband, Tyler, Kelsey L. Breeden, Victoria R. Breeden, and W. Christopher Breeden; and four great-granddaughters, Elena M. Reed, Evelyn I. Reed, Roslyn M. Barnes and Arabella S. Fish.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover. The family will receive friends at viewings to be held from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover.
