Services: A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 in York Road Cemetery with the Rev. E. Edward Keyser officiating.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday evening at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway in Hanover.

William E. ( Bill ) Sell, 93, of Hanover, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2009 at M.S Hershey Medical Center.Born on May 29, 1916 in Hanover, he was the son of the late Charles Henry Sell and Mary Iva Coxen Sell. He was preceded in death by his eight brothers and sisters and his wife Catherine F. Sell, who died June 26, 2009, and with whom he would have celebrated 75 years of marriage in September. He graduated from Hanover High School and served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II.He was the founder of the W.E. Sell Sporting Goods Store in Hanover. He was a charter member and past president of the York & Adams County Game and Fish Association, a benefactor member of the National Rifle Association and a longtime member of the Hanover Elks Club and the Hanover Fire Co. #1. A lover of nature, he was a member of the Audubon Society, the Hanover Homing Pigeon Club, the Ruffed Grouse Society of America and the Ward Brothers Foundation. Bill was an avid sportsman and captured his love of nature in his woodcarvings and art.Survivors include his three sons, Richard F. Sell, W. Edward Sell and Robert A. Sell and his wife Barbara, all of Hanover; two grandsons, David W. and Andrew C. Sell; a granddaughter, Andrea L. Mummert; two great-grandchildren, Carley and Alison Sell; a sister, Joyce Hoffman of Hanover and many nieces and nephews.
