Wayne L. Leppo, 60, loving husband of Carolyn L. Leppo of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Hanover Hospital.
Born on Saturday, March 14, 1953 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Harry J. and Pearl E. Leppo, and was also preceded in death by two sons, Richard and Barry Leppo, and a brother-in-law, Charles L. Sager. He was a member of St. David’s (Sherman) United Church of Christ.
Wayne retired from Ames-True Temper, after 21 years of service, where he was a lift truck mechanic. He had also been employed by Cole Steel in York for 11 years. He had a passion for cars and was a devoted husband and father.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of nearly 42 years, is a son, Timothy Leppo and his wife, Tammy, of Ickesburg; a daughter, Rachel Mettee and her husband, Justin, of Glen Rock; a brother, David H. Leppo, Sr. and his wife, Kathy; and a sister, Shirley A. Sager, all of Hanover.
The funeral will be held at 10 am Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Leppo, Justin Mettee, Gary Stambaugh, Jeff Martin, Brian Kessel and Steve Sager.
The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. David’s (Sherman) United Church of Christ, 142 Hobart Road, Hanover, PA 17331.
