Services: A Mass of Christian burial to remember and celebrate his life will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, 220 Third St., Hanover.
Visitation: Viewing will be Tuesday evening 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover, PA. with a Christian Wake Service at 8:30 P.M.
Walter F. Janusz, M.D., F.A.C.C., 68, of Hanover entered into God's eternal care 1:25 A.M. Friday morning, October 12, 2007 at his home. He was the loving husband of Jill Moyer Janusz whom he married on February 11, 1972. Born in Somerville, NJ on September 30, 1939, he was the son of the late Walter F. Janusz, Sr. and Helen Cholpec Janusz. Dr. Janusz retired as a Cardiologist with Hanover Cardiology Associates and as a Staff Cardiologist at Hanover General Hospital on September 1, 2001 after 26 years of service. Prior to that, he served as a Lt. Commander in the United States Navy from 1973 to 1975 as a Staff Cardiologist with the Naval Aerospace Medical Research Laboratory in Pensacola, FL and with NASA in Houston, TX. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ in 1963 and graduated from Temple University Medical School, Philadelphia, PA in 1967. Dr. Janusz was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Fellow American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, and President of Hanover Cardiology Associates for many years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons David Janusz and wife Julie of York, Daniel Janusz of Philadelphia, Andrew Janusz of Norfolk, VA, Nathan Janusz of Alexandria, VA, Tim Janusz of Newtown Square, PA, four grandchildren; the loves of his life, Madison and Molly Janusz of York, Ben and Grace Janusz of Alexandria, VA, and three sisters Patricia Shreiner of Chambersburg, Nancy Mason of Pennington, NJ, and Barbara Imbert of Homestead, FL. Viewing will be Tuesday evening 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover, PA. with a Christian Wake Service at 8:30 P.M. Burial will be at St. Vincent Catholic Cemetery. The Rev. John A. Szada, Jr. will serve as Celebrant.
