Vivian A. Baumgardner, 94, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Hanover Hospital.
Born on Thursday, February 17, 1921 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Raymond R. and Myrtle Duncan Keller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Baumgardner, who died in 1959; and a sister, Jeanne L. Livelsberger. She was a 1939 graduate of Eichelberger High School.
Vivian retired in 1992 from Staub’s Drugstore after 39 years of service, and was a lifelong member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, where she had been active working in the nursery and with vacation Bible school. She was also a member of Hanover Elks BPOE #763 Ladies Auxiliary and the Young Wives Club. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors include her son, Ed Baumgardner and his wife, Sally, of Lima, OH; a daughter, Barbara Hoffman and her companion, Richard Jacoby, of Hanover; five grandchildren, Stacey Baumgardner, Edward Baumgardner, Jr., Marcia Zeroll, Amy Borneo and Julie Greenholt; five great-grandchildren, Blake Baumgardner, Mason Zeroll, Chase and Chloe Borneo and Brady Baumgardner; and her nieces and nephews, Steve and David Livelsberger, Joanne Hilbert, Chris Laughman and Jane Losensky.
The funeral will be held at 11 am Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with The Rev. Kate Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 am Wednesday in the church parlor.
