Velma L. Millheim, 86, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Homewood at Plum Creek.
Born on Tuesday, May 19, 1931 in New Oxford, she was the daughter of the late Earl F. and Hazel M. McIlwee Flickinger. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Robert B. Millheim, Sr., who died in 2009; a son, Robert B. Millheim, Jr.; and a granddaughter, Jasmine Myers. A 1949 graduate of Littlestown High School, Velma had worked for the Windsor Shoe and Jackson Shoe Companies before retiring from Hanover Hospital in 1996 after 27 years of service in the payroll and benefits department. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen Millheim of Hanover; a son, Lonnie Millheim and his wife, Melinda, of McSherrystown; four grandchildren, Bobbi Jo, Mark, Amanda and Eric Millheim; one great-grandson, Byron, son of Bobbi Jo and Justin Black; and five siblings, Mary Bream of Universal City, TX, Marie Appler of Littlestown, Harold Flickinger and his wife, Sandra, of New Oxford, Gloria Pavy of Metairie, LA, and David Chronister and his wife, Betty,of York.
Following cremation, a graveside service will be held at 1pm Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 725 Baltimore Street, Hanover.
