Greetings from the pearly gates of Heaven! After a wonderful life, I've gone to be with my parents, Richard and Vergie, and brother, Joe.
My 68 years were well spent as a career-long United States Postal Service employee, outstanding gardener (if I do say so myself), expert Wiffle Ball player, sneaky Scrabble player, caring pet sitter (with bologna in my pockets), achiever of the longest ping pong volleys, and wanderer of the beautiful country roads in Littlestown, PA. I also got a kick out of randomly moving pieces of furniture while house sitting for others, and I could fix darn near anything.
Sadly, I leave behind my three daughters and their spouses, Kelly Fort (Chris), Bonnie Martz (Jason), and Britt Lapelosa (Mandy); my grandchildren, Ben and Iain Fort and Grant Walton, my grand dogs, Dino, Ellie, and Frank (my snuggly comfort dog), and my grand macaw, Vivienne; my brothers and sisters and their spouses, Dick (Mary), Donna, and John Lapelosa, Rose Eugene (Mike), Patricia Stebbing, Theresa Perantonakis (George), and Margaret Driscoll (Duke); several nieces and nephews; and my dear friends.
I hope to see the happy, smiling faces of my loved ones and hear laughter and the sharing of fond memories at a party in my honor at Olivia's of Gettysburg on June 26, 2022, at 1 p.m. Dress casual and comfortable, like I would, since we'll be outdoors. Don't be a screwball and dress up fancy; it's too friggin' hot!
While I enjoyed gardening, instead of sending flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Alpha Fire Company #1, Inc. at 40 East King Street Littlestown, PA, 17340.
Happy Day!
