Thomas C. Geiman

Thomas C. Geiman, 73, of Michigan City, IN and previously of McSherrystown, PA entered into God’s eternal care on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at St. Anthony Hospital in Michigan City following an unexpected, brief illness.

Born on Saturday, May 29, 1943 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Wilmer W. and Evelyn M. Brady Geiman. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Laverne Geiman; two brothers-in-law, Raymond Kuhn and Philip Selby and a nephew, Kevin Warehime.

A 1961 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, he served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War as early warning radar maintenance and was stationed in Palermo, NJ. He was employed with Bethlehem Steel from 1968 until his retirement in 2003. His employment relocated him from McSherrystown to Michigan City, where he met his wife, Lewinita Granger Geiman. He was a life member of McSherrystown Home Association and attended Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Michigan City. He loved to travel and did not let distance keep him from being with his family, often driving the 12 hour trip. He was a patient man, who had a giving and caring heart.

In addition to his wife of 14 years, he is survived by a son, Timothy J. Geiman and his wife, Darlene of Littlestown; a daughter, Elaine M. Meckley and her husband, Ray “Tony” of Hanover; two granddaughters, Brooke and Raia Meckley; four step-children, Lamonte and Lesley Granger of Van Wert, OH, LaToya Granger of San Antonio, TX and John Beck and his wife, Temeka of Hoover, AL; seven step-grandchildren, Chad and Cara Miller, Shawnee and Chey Granger and John, Brianna and Jason Beck; three step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ruthann Selby, Darla Kuhn and Mary Warehime and her husband, Robert, all of Hanover; a sister-in-law, Judith Geiman of Hanover and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5055 Grandview Road, Hanover with The Rev. Mgsr. James M. Lyons serving as celebrant.
