Thelma Iona Miner “Tommy” Doll, 93, of Hanover, died Monday, February 18, 2013 at her home.
Born January 12, 1920 in Carlisle, she was a daughter Paul Dewitt Miner and Ermel Trean Miller Miner; and was also preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Curtis Robert Doll, Sr., who died on January 4, 2013; two sisters, Pauline Brown and Betty Shetter; and two brothers, William and James Miner. Mrs. Doll was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and was a former member of the YW Wives of the Hanover YWCA. She took great pleasure in playing Duplicate Bridge. In her younger years, she enjoyed activities in the winter and swimming in the summer.
Survivors include her son, Curtis Robert Doll, Jr. of Hanover; her daughter, Janice Loraine White and her husband, Dick, of Sykesville, MD; three grandsons, Timothy James White of Manhattan, NY, Curtis Robert Doll, II and Benjamin Emmett Doll, both of York; and two sisters, Melva Althea Cockle of Gettysburg and Doris R. Jones of Hagerstown, MD.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with The Rev. Faye C. Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church parlor.
