Teresa A. Smith Clouser, 53, of Hanover, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Hanover Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born on Wednesday, August 8, 1962 in Hanover, she was a daughter of Linda Kerchner Bigham of Hanover and the late Robert J. Smith. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Chris Smith; and her grandparents.
Teresa was a graduate of New Oxford High School, Hanover Practical Nursing Program, and received her Master’s degree in Science from Elizabethtown College. She received the Nurse of Hope Award in 1989 through the American Cancer Society and volunteered with many safety and children’s programs in Adams County. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on York Street, and loved to sing and play the guitar. Teresa will be remembered for having a heart of gold as she loved to help people and adored her grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, is a daughter, Christen Hinderer and her husband, Alex, of York; a son, Anthony Gallagher of Ocean View, DE; three grandchildren, Brennen, Hayden and Peyten; a brother, Michael Smith of Ocean City, MD; a special aunt, Sally Sagle of Hanover; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, a graveside service will be held at 11am on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Rest Haven Cemetery with The Rev. Timothy Kielley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The “V” Foundation for Cancer Research, 14600 Weston Parkway, Cary, NC 27513.
