Suzanne R. Morela, 80, of Hanover, beloved wife of Samuel A. Morela, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at UPMC Hanover.
Born on Saturday, March 4, 1944 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Richard Forry and Leah Baker Forry. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly Ann Morela. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on York Street. Suzanne retired after 16 years as a food service worker with Hanover High School and was a former employee of Hanover Direct. She took great pleasure in shopping and eating out, as well as spending time outdoors, camping and bird watching. Moreover, she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, where she had a helping hand raising her oldest grandchild.
In addition to Samuel, her husband of 62 years, surviving are two daughters, Toni Geiman and her husband, Todd, of Hanover, and Angela Smith, and her husband, Steven, of West York; one son, Thomas Morela of York; seven grandchildren, Adam Strausbaugh, Nicole Watson, Alexandra Geiman, Brittany and Morgan Hoke, and Gabriel and Jordan Morela; seven great grandchildren, Tristan Strausbaugh, Joey Hoke, Elijah Geiman, Logan Watson, Remmi Krause, Skyler Watson and Rowan Morela; one sister, Sandra Henry and her husband, Frank, of Kennett Square; and several nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6 – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway in Hanover.
