Stephen Frey Weaver, Sr., 79, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 29, 2021 at home with his loving wife, Ruth Baker Weaver, by his side.
Born on Saturday, September 27, 1941 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Clair E. Weaver and Kathleen Frey Stevens. He was a former employee of Revonah Pretzel, Del-Wood Kitchens and Madison Square Furniture. Stephen was a longtime member of Trinity United Church of Christ, where he served as a sexton. Heavily involved in area sports for many years, he was a coach for the Hanover Little League for more than 30 years. Stephen was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 58 years, are three children, Holly Willet and her husband, Steve, of Spring Grove, Stephen Weaver, Jr. and his wife, Sarah, of Hanover, and Scott Weaver and his fiancée, Jess Barley, of York; nine grandchildren, Laura Williams and her husband, Mike, Amber Walter, Molly Bizon and her husband, Josh, Tess Hansbrough and her husband, Jeff, Cameron, Jordan and Bella Weaver, and Brynn and Blake Barley; three sisters, Nancy Brayman, Judy Bosley and Carol Emig; a brother, Gary Weaver; and several nieces and nephews.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private service will be held. Entombment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
