Stephen L. Rebert, 68, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Genesis The Gettysburg Center.
Born on Tuesday, November 22, 1955 in Ardmore, OK, he was a son of Marlene Rita Sponseller Strickler and the late Donald Lee Rebert. Steve’s professional life was defined by dedication and hard work with a commitment to getting the job done right. After graduating from South Western High School - Class of 1973, he worked at Weis Market in Hanover and Coulson Heel in El Paso, TX before focusing on an electrician career with Cromer’s Electric in Hanover. He then relocated to Hilton Head, SC working as a project manager at Simoneaux Electric before retirement in 2020. Steve excelled in a wide range of skills with many people saying he could fix anything. He shared an early interest in mechanics alongside his Uncle Darwin and garnered carpentry and construction skills from a true and loving mentor Mr. Smith, his late father in law. In his leisure, he enjoyed music, travel, bowling, and roller skating. He had the best of times working Magic Elm Skating Rink with his cousin Andy Moul and absolutely gliding over the rink to old time rock and roll!
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his son, Andrew Lee Rebert and his companion, Tamara; two grandchildren, Seth Rebert and Sarah Pruneda; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Karen K. Brooks and her husband, Steve, and Rene Camacho and her husband, Dave; four nephews, Stephen Brooks and his wife, Jill, Wesley Brooks, David Camacho and his wife, Sarah, and Daniel Camacho and his wife Orinta; and several great nieces and nephews.
