Services: A private funeral will be held for the family with burial in Christ Church Cemetery, Littlestown. Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Barthold, Benjamin Bange, Matthew Barthold, Nicholas Barthold, Wesley Brooks and Corey May.
Visitation: There will be no public viewing.
Stanley J. Barthold, 78, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Hanover Hospital. Born on January 24, 1930, in Codorus Township, PA, he was a son of the late James Stanley and Annie Rohrbaugh Barthold. He was also preceded in death by a son, Donald Barthold, daughter-in-law, Lana Barthold, a brother, Lloyd Barthold and a sister, Ruth Ann Dietz.He retired from Crowley Foods in 1990 and was a member of Christ United Church of Christ in Littlestown. He enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Charlotte A. Barthold; his children, Shirley May and her husband Roger of East Berlin, Betty Bange and her husband Mearl of Spring Grove, James Barthold and his wife Holly of Hanover, Robert Barthold and his wife Tracy of Glenville and Karen Mundorff and her husband William Mundorff, Jr of Littlestown; two sisters, Grace Myers of York and Darlene Bortner of Codorus; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
