Shirley J. Neiderer

Shirley J. (Bechtel) Neiderer, 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Memory Lane, Homewood at Plum Creek, Hanover, PA. She was the wife of the late Lawrence J. “Pete” Neiderer, who died on August 4,2003.

Born on June 6, 1934, in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Earl L. Bechtel and Lottie A. (Stump) Bechtel. Shirley graduated from Eichelberger High School in 1952. She was a personnel secretary at Mechanicsburg Naval Support Activity in Mechanicsburg and was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Susan Gross and husband Neal, of Hanover; sisters, Annette Sell and Brenda Shank, of Hanover; a granddaughter, Nicole Gross, of Hanover; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 W. Chestnut Street in Hanover with The Rev. Faye C. Snyder officiating. A viewing will be held from10:30 am until the start of the service. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
