Shirley Margaret Gelwicks

Shirley Margaret Gelwicks, 82, of Hanover passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Hanover Hall Nursing Center.

Born on Saturday, September 7, 1935 in Emmitsburg, MD, she was a daughter of the late Scott and Frances McNair. She was also preceded in death her companion of 40 years, Dale K. Miller, who died in 2011; a daughter, Dale Ellen Gelwicks, who died in 2010; and a brother, Rodney McNair.

Survivors include a daughter, Lisa A. Miller of Hanover; a sister, Joan Bankard of Thurmont, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 10am on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover. Burial will be private at Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dale and Shirley’s beloved dog, Noose, to the Adams County SPCA, 11 Goldenville Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
