Sharon E. Miller

Sharon E. Miller, 71, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Friday, February 7, 2014 at Transitions Healthcare in Gettysburg.

Born on Wednesday, November 4, 1942 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Franklin E. and Miriam L. Waltersdorff Brown. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Brown and a nephew, Scott Brown.

A 1960 graduate of Eichelberger High School, she spent most of her career as a hairdresser. She also enjoyed her employment with Columbia Jewelers, Bank of Hanover, Railside Diner and the Bon-Ton, where she received a number of reward pins. Sharon was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Soroptomist International and the Women of the Moose Hanover Lodge # 227 , where she was awarded the Academy of Friendship and Recorder Pin in 1984 in Chicago. A very artistic and crafty woman, she made boxes out of Christmas cards and designed silk flower arrangements. She enjoyed traveling and found herself on many trips to the Allenbury Playhouse, Walt Disney World and to Broadway, where she watched her favorite show, The Phantom of the Opera.

Survivors include a sister, Donna Brown of New Oxford; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many good friends who loved and cared for her as much as she did for them.

A memorial service will be held 10 am Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Grace United Church of Christ, 100 Fourth Street, Hanover with The Rev. Dr. Bruce P. Bouchard officiating.
