Visitation: His family will receive friends from 5:00pm until the time of service in the Council Chamber.
SAMUEL LEE BRIDWELL, 81, of Hanover died Friday, February 16, 2007 at Hanover Hospital. He was the fiancee of Jean Kress of Hanover. Born in West Bedford, PA, he was the son of the late John Firman and Ella Korby Bridwell. A Service of Remembrance will be held 6:30pm Thursday, February 22, 2007 in the Council Chamber of the Hanover Borough Building, 44 Frederick Street, Hanover. His family will receive friends from 5:00pm until the time of service in the Council Chamber. Officiating at the service will be Mayor Maggie Hormel. Burial will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. In addition to his fiancee, Mr. Bridwell is survived by his children Sandra Lee Bridwell-Walker and her husband Bill of Cleburne, TX, Sharon Louise Rankin of Red Lion, Susan Lynn Strupp and her husband Peter of Zhu Zhou, China and Samuel Lee Bridwell Jr. and his wife Carol of Spring Grove. He was a special grandfather to Kyle Rankin, Holly Rankin, Jane Bridwell and Samuel T. Bridwell. He is also survived by his great grandson Bryce Rankin. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Jane Grittie Bridwell who died in 1996 and by his companion Margel Masenheimer who died in 2006.
