Sadie B. Whisler, 95 of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Homewood at Plum Creek.
Born on Friday, August 26, 1927 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Daniel S. and Sadie Susan Forry Bair. Sadie was also preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Walter D. Whisler, who died in 1991; a daughter, Anita E. Whisler; two sisters, Elizabeth Fuhrman and Emma Herr; and a brother, D. Henry Bair. She was a member of the Bethel Mennonite Church in Gettysburg and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Pleasant Hill Fire Department. Sadie enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking, especially baking, and traveling in her later years.
Survivors include her son, Glendon Whisler and his wife, Mary Faye, of Cary, NC; a granddaughter, Bailey Whisler and her husband, Kevin Partowazam, of Washington, DC; a sister-in-law, Lois Whisler of Hanover; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Bair’s Mennonite Meeting House, 6925 Hanover Road in Hanover. Burial will follow in York Road Cemetery. The family will receive friends at viewings from 4 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway in Hanover and at the church one hour prior to the service.
