Ruth E. Masenheimer, 80, a lifelong resident of Hanover and wife of Norman E. Masenheimer, Jr., passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at her home.
Born December 30, 1929 in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Donald Reindollar, Sr and Nora Heilman Reindollar. She was preceded in death by her brother Donald Reindollar, Jr.
Ruth was a member of the 1947 Class of Eichelberger High School and worked most of her life at Reindollar Grocery, which was her parents’ store, and later worked in Buffington’s Meat Market until its closing. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was an avid bingo player.
In addition to her husband of 61 years, she is survived by a daughter, Stephania Kitchen and her husband, Frederick, of Manassas Park, VA; three granddaughters, Jennifer Martin, Sheila Kitchen and Shannon Kitchen; four great-grandchildren; and three nieces.
The funeral will be held at 11 am Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 127 York Street, Hanover with The Rev. Tina Minnich officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The viewing will be held from 6-8 pm Monday, January 11, 2010 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
