Ruth I. Church, 78, of McSherrystown, entered into God’s eternal care on Wednesday, May 21, 2009 at her home.Born on January 1, 1931 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was married for 52 years to Vernon Church, who died in 2002. She was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. She was a creative person, known for her homemade greeting cards and crafts. Survivors include her son, Bradley A. Church, Sr.and his wife Mona of Hanover; her five daughters, Verna L. Vlachos and her husband George Timothy of Littlestown, Roberta L. Rose and her husband Joseph Alexander of Toano, VA, Katherine E. Warner and her husband Robert K. of Essex, MD, Janice Street and her husband Daniel of Bel Air, MD, and Stacey A. Ray and her husband, Thomas, Jr. of Wellington, FL; two sisters, Barbara Griffith of Glen Rock and Carolyn Allen and her husband Marty of Millers Island, MD; an aunt, Edith Parthree of Baltimore, MD; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
