Russell L. Bevans, 70, of Abbottstown, entered into God’s eternal care on Monday, October 11, 2021 at his home.
Born on Wednesday, July 25, 1951 in Piedmont, WV, he was a son of the late Elwood F. and Louise Grove Bevans. A 1969 graduate of Hanover High School, he was a former employee of Classic Cable, McClarin Plastics and Precision Cut Industries. Russell was a member of the McSherrystown Home Association and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed sports, coaching baseball, playing softball in his younger days, and loved eating crabs with family and friends.
Survivors include his companion of 27 years, Christi L. Hall; four children, Tammy Rinehart and her husband, Martin, of York, Russell Bevans, Jr. and his wife, Lorie, of Spring Grove, Brad Bevans and his wife, Cristy, of Taneytown, MD, and Todd Bevans and his wife, Jessica, of York; a brother, Greg Bevans and his wife, Dodie, of New Oxford; six grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; and Christi’s sons, Steven Hall and Justin Shultz.
A service will be held at a later date.
