Rose Marie Groft McKim, 76, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care Monday, July 18, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Gettysburg.
Born July 27, 1934 in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Evelyn Margaret Rider Groft. She was also preceded in death by a son, Victor J. McKim and a daughter, Suzanne M. McKim.
Ms. McKim was a 1952 graduate of Delone Catholic High School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a retired employee of the former Grocery Outlet. She had a love for movies and books, but mostly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and going to the beach.
Survivors include a son, James F. McKim and his wife, LuAnn, of Thomasville; a daughter, Janice M. Staub and her husband, Gregory, of Hanover; a brother, Ray F. Groft and his wife, Dixie, of New Oxford; four grandchildren, Joseph J. McKim, Amanda M. Staub, Aaron G. Staub, and Andreana J. Staub; and four great-grandchildren, Chaz Stambaugh, and Jessica, Natalie and Mary Jane McKim.
The family will receive friends at a viewing 6-8:00 PM Sunday at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with a prayer service to be held at 8:00 PM.
Following cremation, a memorial Mass will be said at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church by The Rev. James E. Lease. Burial will follow in the Conewago Chapel Cemetery.
