Ronald L. Shireman, 79, loving husband of Helen L. (Stockham) Shireman, entered into God’s eternal care on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at his home.

Born on Monday, February 25, 1935 in Hanover, he was the son of the late Herman A. and Mary Margaret Smith Shireman. He was a 1953 graduate of Delone Catholic High School.

A successful businessman and farmer, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Product Enterprises and along with his wife owned and managed Rolenshire Farms. He was a US Army veteran having served with the 183rd Army Security Agency. Mr. Shireman was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Hanover Area Historical Society where he served on the Board of Directors and on various committees. He was also a member of the Hanover Amvets Post #22, the Sons of Union Veterans, the Victorian Dance Ensemble, and various historical and Civil War societies.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 51 years, is a sister, Sheila Shireman Long of Hanover, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, August 28, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover with The Rev. Msgr. James M. Lyons serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Conewago Chapel Cemetery with military honors being rendered by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am Thursday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VNA of Hanover and Spring Grove, 440 N. Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331 or to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
