Ronald E. Hockensmith, 65, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 29, 2024 at his home.
Born on Sunday, August 17, 1958 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Donald and Hilda Parrill Hockensmith. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Randal A. “Randy” Hockensmith; and his beloved German Shepherd, Spanner. Ron attended South Western High School and was employed as a drywall hanger for many years.
Survivors include his two daughters, Shannon H. Delp of Mooresville, NC and Nicole D. Hockensmith of Wilkesboro, NC; one granddaughter, Alanis and her spouse, Jonathan ; three grandsons, Zachary, Waylon, and Luke; two great-grandchildren, Ledger and Aaleyah; his sister, Susan Hockensmith and her spouse, Jackie, of Waldorf, MD; and two special friends in Christ, Wilbert and Theresa McManus.
A private service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Celebrate Recovery @ Southside, c/o Southside Baptist Church, 525 S. Broad Street, Mooresville, NC 28115.
