Ronald L. Hanner, Sr., of Stafford, VA and formerly of Hanover, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at his home.
A native of Williamsport, PA, he was a son of the late Karl W. and Dorothy Lambert Hanner. In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Claudine A. Hanner, who died in 2007; two brothers, Joseph and Lloyd Hanner; and a sister, Donna Hanner. A US Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he served with the 35th Fighter Squadron in Korea and later with the 93rd Fighter Squadron in New Mexico. Ronald was employed as a Pressman for the Williamsport Sun Gazette and Washington Post before working Security with Divine Providence Hospital in Williamsport.
Survivors include his son, Ronald L. Hanner, Jr. and his wife, Cindy, of Stafford, VA; a daughter, Christine A. Pagano and her husband, Peter, of Hamilton Square, NJ; four step-children, Anne M. Kazmierczak of Gaithersburg, MD, Dr. George A. Resta, III and his wife, Kathy, of Potomac, MD, Colleen F. Doherty and her husband, Randy, of Twinsburg, OH, and Michelle C. Muller, and her husband, William, of Warwick, NY; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, November 19, 2021 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Gettysburg.
