Roland F. Germuth, 96, of New Oxford, beloved husband of Esther H. Germuth, entered into God’s eternal care on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community.
Born on Thursday, September 25, 1924 in Baltimore, MD, he was a son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Brown Germuth. He is also preceded in death by 12 siblings. A proud veteran of the United States Army, he graduated from Catonsville High School in Catonsville, MD, worked as a chemical engineer for many years and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hanover. Gifted with his hands, he enjoyed working in his flower beds, tending to his fish ponds, cheering on the Baltimore Ravens, and listening to classical music; especially Beethoven.
In addition to his wife of nearly 72 years, he is survived by three children, Suzanne Butler and her husband, Wayne, of Hanover, John Germuth and his wife, Linda, of Catonsville, MD, and Mark Germuth of Kingsford, TN; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lenore Cheever.
In compliance with health and public safety directives, the services for Roland will be held privately.
