Rodney H. Weaver, Sr., 84, of New Oxford, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at his home.
Born on Tuesday, October 25, 1940 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Helen E. Reck and Clarence W. Weaver, Sr. He was raised by his mother and late step father, Kenneth W. Reck. Rodney was preceded in death by his eldest son, Rodney H. Weaver, Jr., sisters, Joanne Poist and Frances Medlock; and brothers, Calvin L. Weaver and Clarence W. Weaver, Jr.
A 1958 graduate of Eichelberger High School, he married the love of his life, Brenda K. Brown on August 6, 1961. Brenda also preceded him in death in 2019. Rodney served six years in the U.S Army and traveled to 25 different countries and territories in both Europe and Asia. He worked several years for Hanover Brands, then Thomasville Stone and Lime Company, where he retired after 30 years as Superintendent of Quarry and Underground Mining. Rodney spent his retirement years studying God’s word with his wife and enjoying time with her and family.
Survivors include his children, Lorie A. Shultz and her husband, Dale, of Gettysburg, Kenneth H. Weaver, Russell J. Weaver, and William S. Weaver, all of New Oxford; and two grandchildren, Kurt Anthony Weaver and Brie Anna Weaver.
As per Rodney’s wishes, services will be private.
