Robert D. O’Donnell, 74, husband of Mary Flickinger O’Donnell of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at his home.
Born October 8, 1938 in Mount Union, PA, he was a son of the late Ray S. and Vema Brandt O’Donnell, and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Jerry O’Donnell. He was a former employee of The Manitowoc Company and served with the US Army which included a post-war tour of duty in Germany.
Mr. O’Donnell was a member of the Hanover Fellowship Church, Amvets Post # 22, Hanover Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie # 1406, and the McSherrystown and Hanover Home Associations. He enjoyed flowers, gardening and swinging with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 48 years, is one daughter, Kathy A. Wolf and her husband, Chris, of Hanover; a sister, Jean Honeycutt and her husband, Charles, of Silver Run, MD; two grandchildren, Matthew and Amy Wolf; four great-grandchildren, Arianna, Aliyah, Anden and Jaydelyn Wolf; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 1:30pm Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Hanover Fellowship Church with The Rev. Thomas Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Marburg Memorial Gardens with military honors rendered by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held 6-8:00pm Thursday at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover.
