Robert E. Groft
Robert E. Groft, 51, of Glen Rock, beloved husband of J. Gail (Carter) Groft, entered into God’s eternal rest Saturday, October 24, 2009 at his home.
Born January 11, 1958 in Baltimore, MD, he was a son of the late Earl S. and Laura “Honey” Spangler Groft. He was a member of the Freedom Valley Worship Center.
Mr. Groft was a graduate of the Pikesville (MD) Senior High School and the ABC Electrical Apprenticeship. He held a Maryland Master Electrical License and was employed by Varia Systems, Inc. as a project manager. He was very proud to have built three houses by himself, from ground to completion.
A devoted family man, he is survived, in addition to his wife of 28 years, by his brother, James Richard Groft and his wife, Susan, of Hanover; his sister, Linda K. D’Ambrogi of Glenville; two sisters-in-law, Karen Kellough and her husband, Thomas, and Kelly Carter; nieces and nephews, James Groft, Jr. and his wife, Stacey, Steven and Brian Groft, Michael D’Ambrogi, III and his wife, Christina, Craig D’Ambrogi, and Lauren and Ryan Kellough; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the Freedom Valley Worship Center, 3185 York Road, Gettysburg with Pastor Gerry Stoltzfoos officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Freedom Valley Worship Center, 3185 York Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
