Robert E. “Bob” Anderson, 73, of Hanover, husband of Shirley Kuhns Anderson, peacefully entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Select Specialty Hospital in York.
Born on Tuesday, December 12, 1950 in Ellwood City, PA, he was a son of the late Ben Anderson, Jr. and Grace Oliver Anderson Bartle. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ben and Dennis Anderson. In 1972, he received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and later received his Master's degree in Computer Engineering from Loyola College in Maryland. Bob had a successful career as an electrical engineer having worked for several large companies in the United States and in Germany. He was a member of the Hanover Valley Presbyterian Church and thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Retired Old Men Eating Out (ROMEO) Club. He enjoyed working outdoors and could often be seen riding his bike with his oxygen tank on his back. Bob will be long remembered for his eagerness to help others, his smile, generosity, integrity and his endearing sense of humor.
In addition to his wife of 50 years, Bob is survived by his children, Melissa R. Casper and her husband, Michael, of New Freedom, PA, Steven B. Anderson, LynnMarie A. Leonard and her husband, Carl, of Hanover, and Túpac Mantilla-Gomez of Hamburg, Germany; four grandchildren, Leah, Elise, Ethan and Skye Leonard, whom he adored; four brothers, Rollin Geddes and his wife, Carolyn, of Knoxville, TN, Kenneth and his wife, Paulette, of Fayette City, PA, Lenard Anderson and, Marjie, and Timothy Anderson, all of Fombell, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 9, 2024 at the Hanover Valley Presbyterian Church, 133 Carlisle Street in Hanover with The Rev. Drew Derreth officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
