Richard "Red" Holmes

Richard “Red” Holmes, 81, of Hanover, loving husband of Linda Holmes, entered into God’s eternal care on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Hanover Hospital.

Born on Sunday, July 11, 1937, in Brooklyn, he was a son of the late James M. and Sophie Schnitzler Holmes. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Holmes Maley, and a brother James M. Holmes, Jr.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of nearly 59 years, are three children, Richard Holmes and his wife, Michele, of Brooklyn, NY, Karen Castillo and her husband, Jose, of Hanover and Robbie Holmes of Alexandria, VA; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at St. Vincent dePaul Church, 220 Third Street, Hanover by The Rev. Michael P. Reid, II. The family will receive friends at viewings from 2-4PM and 6-8PM on Wednesday at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover and at the church one hour prior to the service.
