Richard A. DeRita, 83, of Littlestown, husband of Doreen DeRita, entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at UPMS Hanover.
Born on Monday, February 26, 1940 in Stafford, Connecticut, he was a son of the late Domnick and Thersa Lombardi DeRita. Richard retired in 1998 from the Springfield State Hospital in Sykesville, Maryland after many years of service. He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the Westminster (MD) Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 1381. He enjoyed landscaping and working in his yard.
In addition to his wife of 49 years, he is survived by two daughters, Heather M. DeRita of York Springs, and Natalie L. DeRita of Hanover; and a granddaughter, Makenna.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
