Richard B. Wiseman, 81, loving husband of Gloria L. Ecker Wiseman, entered into God’s eternal care Friday, March 9, 2012 at Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community.
Born September 30, 1930 in Marietta, he was a son of the late Oda and Margaret Bradley Wiseman. He was a 1949 graduate of New Oxford High School and a veteran of the US Air Force.
Mr. Wiseman was a former employee of Wentz Oil Service and a retired employee of Sico Heating & Air Conditioning. He was a member of Emory United Methodist Church and the Harold H. Bair American Legion Post #14. He was an avid golfer and fisherman and in his earlier years he enjoyed bowling.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 61 years, is a daughter, Victoria J. Harner of Lancaster; a son, Bradley M. Wiseman and his wife, Tammy, of Hanover; three brothers, Samuel Wiseman of Spring Grove, Charles Wiseman of Thomasville, and Donald Wiseman of Sea Isle City, NC; four grandchildren, Laura Harris, David Harner, Jr., Abby Wiseman, and Aaron Riley; and two great-grandchildren, Philip and Lynn Harris.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery with military honors rendered by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held from 10-11:00 am Tuesday at the funeral home.
