Richard Elwood Busch

On Sunday, February 16, 2025, Richard Elwood Busch, of New Oxford, PA, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his devoted life partner, Eloise Fisher; loving children, Richard, Jr. and his wife, Casey, David and his wife, Taylon, and Joseph and his wife, Adele; a stepson, Christopher Fisher; and Richard’s cherished grandchildren, James, Khaleisi, Lyanna, Miles, and Kenzie. He will also be missed by his extended family and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Elwood.

Born in Baltimore MD, Richard graduated Baltimore City College in 1959. He later served his country proudly as a helicopter crew chief, during his time in Vietnam, from 1966-67. He then went to become a Baltimore City police officer, where he patrolled the Eastern District for over twenty years. Richard was an avid photographer and outdoorsman, who enjoyed nothing more than to spend time in nature, and capture its beauty on film.

He will be remembered fondly as a loving father, grandfather, partner and friend.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway in Hanover with Pastor Craig Loewen officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.
