Richard A. “Dick” King, 89, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Beatrice Jane (Frommeyer) King with whom he shared 28 years of joyful marriage.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Dick was the son of John King and Marie (Carroll) King. He was part of the North Catholic High School class of 1952 and a graduate of La Salle University. He enjoyed a 40 year career with the Philadelphia Electric Company before retiring in 1991. Throughout his retirement he focused on time with family and active involvement in his church and several community organizations.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 12 years, Isabel (Schaffer) King, and his elder brother, John King. Dick is survived by his sons, Laurence King and his wife, Kelly (Lutton) King, Richard King and his wife, Christine (Keer) King, and Stephen King and his wife, Christina (Smith) King. He was “PopPop” to nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road in Hanover by The Rev. Msgr. James M. Lyons. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held privately at the Saint John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont, PA.
