Ricarda “Rici” Finley Carter, 68, of Littlestown, beloved wife of Marion Lynn Carter, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at her home.
Born on Thursday, March 3, 1949 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Richard Albert Finley, Jr. and Josephine Concetta DiBlasio Finley. She was member of Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in McSherrystown.
A 1967 graduate of Seton High School in Baltimore, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Morgan State College in 1973. After rearing her children, Ricarda was a customer service representative in the banking industry and later became “Nana-Mama” to her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, reading, walking, going to the beach and traveling with her husband.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 38 years, are two children, Melissa Lyn Carter of Thurmont, MD and Richard Marion Carter and his wife, Sarah, of Littlestown; two grandchildren, Gavin Joseph Carter and Avery Loretta Carter, both of Littlestown; three sisters, Florence Guyer and her husband, Rich, Regina Trigg, all of Hatboro, PA and Maria Chandler and her husband, Tim, of Aiken, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11 am Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 26 N. Third Street, McSherrystown with The Rev. Charles L. Persing celebrating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive at a viewing to be held from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover, with a prayer service to held at 8 pm.
