Services: The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am Thursday, February 12, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church by his nephew Monsignor Robert Lawrence and his pastor The Rev. Joseph F. Gotwalt. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with military graveside rites being performed by Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation: The viewing will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm Wednesday evening at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover with the Christian Wake Service being held at 8 pm.
Raymond “Ramie” Thomas Wolf, 86, lifelong resident of Hanover and husband of almost 60 years to Maria Ann Myers Wolf, passed away at his home on February 9, 2009.Born on November 2, 1922 to the late Sylvester A. and Ella Ebaugh Wolf, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Wilbur, Robert, Bernard and Donald Wolf, and his sisters, Ethel Lawrence, Evelyn Myers Reaver, Mary Zarilla, Doris Rhinehart Crabbs, and Marguerite Schuchart. He was a 1940 graduate of Eichelberger High School and was employed by the United States Postal Service, retiring in 1988 after 33 years of service. A veteran of World War II, he served with the 100th Infantry Division as a 60 mm Mortar Gunner. He fought in the Southern France Vosges Mountains, Bitche, and also Southern Germany. He received the Infantry Badge, the Combat Infantry Badge, the Bronze Star, the Good Conduct Medal, the European Theatre of Operations, the American Theatre Service, and the Victory Medal.During the 1930’s and 1940’s, he was a regular roller skater at the Forest Park Skating Rink. During the 1960’s and 1970’s, he drove a school bus for the Lincoln Bus Line. He was also an avid bowler for 60 years, an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan, and was a lover of music. He was a member of the Hanover Moose Baseball Team, which won several league championships. After his baseball career, he managed small fry baseball teams for 10 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for 60 years, 40 years of which he had been head usher for the Saturday night service.In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three daughters, Jeanette Miller and her husband Dale, Patricia Lenick and her husband David, all of Hanover and Christine Zanowiak and her husband Matt of Millersville; two sons, Lawrence Wolf of Hanover and Jeffrey A. Wolf of Dover; thirteen grandchildren, Mark, Matthew and Heidi Miller, Heather Coffman, Nathan, Michael, Jordan, Jimmy, and Christopher Lenick, Gregory Zanowiak, Ryan, Justin and Corey Wolf; two great-grandchildren, Kiana and Brodie Miller; two brothers, Richard Wolf and his wife Gladys of Hanover, and James Wolf of McSherrystown; and two sisters, Helen Riley of Littlestown and Jean Duttera and her husband Tom of Hanover.
