Services: A funeral service to celebrate Mr. Senft's life will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday morning at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover.
Visitation: His viewing will be at the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Raymond H. Senft, 85, of Hanover entered into God's eternal care 9:39 P.M. Friday evening, March 23, 2007 at Hanover Hall. He was the husband of the late Belva R. Zortman Senft who died January 15, 1997. Born in Porters Sideling on January 27, 1922, he was the son of the late Hamilton and Mabel Becker Senft. Mr. Senft retired from York Corrugating Company as a Machinist in 1987 after 42 years of employment. He was a member of St. Peter Lischey's United Church of Christ, Spring Grove. Mr. Senft was also a member of Harold H. Bair American Legion Post #14, and a life member of both the Hanover Veterans of Foreign Wars and the McSherrystown Moose. A veteran of World War II, he served his country with honor and pride as an Army Tech Sergeant with the 98th Signal Battalion in the South Pacific. For his service, he was awarded the Meritorius Unit Award, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with Bronze Arrowhead and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. Mr. Senft is survived by 5 sisters Jennie Stambaugh of Lancaster, Romaine Haar of Spring Grove, Edna Kemper, Leona Ernst and Helen Klinedinst all of Hanover. He was also preceded in death by a sister Florence Keeney and two brothers Guy Senft and Ervin Senft. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday morning at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover. Viewing will be at the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery with Military Honors by the Allied Veterans Honor Guard. The Rev. Lou Ann Jones will officiate.
