Ralph D. Manger, 93, of Hanover, died peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Hanover Hall after a period of declining health.Born August 2, 1915, in Hanover, he was a son of the late Adam and Ida Trite Manger. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Ethel Mummert and Mildred Hoover and his brothers, Raymond Manger and Carroll Manger. He was a 1935 graduate of Eichelberger High School and retired from Snyders of Hanover in 1980 following 35 years of service. Stationed in India and Burma with the 1877th Engineers Aviation Battalion, he served in the United States Army during World War II as a Staff Sergeant. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ.Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Lela Myers Manger; a son, Stephen B. Manger and his wife Barbara; a daughter, Patricia L. Manger; a grandson, Scott A. Manger, all of Hanover; and several nieces and nephews.
