Phyllis J. Huppman

Phyllis J. Huppman, 78, loving wife of Elvin R. “Rich” Huppman of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the Lutheran Retirement Village in Shrewsbury.



Born June 27, 1934 in Frostburg, MD, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Martha Dawson Miller; and was also preceded in death by two sons, Richard and Lynn L. Huppman; four sisters, Caroline Custer, Pauline Gomer, Martha DePaulis and Mella Hitchins; and two brothers, Frank and Raymond Miller.



Mrs. Huppman was a homemaker who enjoyed working with flowers, cooking and gardening. She took great pride in caring for her family and friends. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on York Street, where she sang in the church choir, and was a volunteer with PALS for more than 30 years.



Surviving, in addition to her husband of 59 years, is a son, Donald E. Huppman and his wife, Melissa, of Glen Rock; two sisters, Maxine Beeman and her husband, Glen, and Donna Saveleski and her husband, Bob, all of Cumberland, MD; two brothers, Joe Miller of Wayne, MI and Melvin Miller and his wife, Martha, of Hanover; one grandson, Donald E. Huppman, II of Hanover; two step-grandchildren, Amber and Kris Kappes; and numerous nieces and nephews.



The funeral will be held at 11:00 am Monday, October 22, 2012 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 127 York Street, Hanover with The Rev. Robert Burkhart officiating. Burial will follow in Marburg Memorial Gardens.



The family will receive friends at viewings to be held 2-4:00pm Sunday at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover and 10-11:00am Monday in the church parlor.
