Philip L. Laughman, 67, of New Oxford, beloved husband of Elisa Bealing Laughman, passed away peacefully and entered into God’s eternal care on Monday, April 5, 2021 at UPMC Pinnacle Hanover Hospital.
Born on Tuesday, August 11, 1953 in Hanover he was a son of the late Clyde and Miriam Hemler Laughman. He is also preceded in death by his son, Paul Christian Babylon, who died in 2016. A believer of the Catholic faith, Phil attended Delone Catholic High School and was a member of the New Oxford Social & Athletic Club, the Gettysburg Eagles Aerie #1562, and the Home Association of McSherrystown. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed riding his tractors, tending his garden, fishing and hiking with his dog, Moses.
In addition to his wife of 35 years, survivors include a daughter-in-law, Dawn Dixon Babylon; three grandchildren, Christian and Victoria Babylon, and Teresa Starkey and her husband, Andrew; two great-grandchildren, Mara and Thea Starkey; five siblings, Stephen Laughman and his wife, Lynne, Lanny Laughman and his wife, Jean, Anthony Laughman and his wife, Sue, Edith Staub and her husband, Greg, and Laurie Williams and her husband, Dodd; numerous nieces and nephews; and three close friends, Nick Garrett, Tristan Walton, and Jonathan LaBarbera.
A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Monday, April 12, 2021 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Mr. Thomas Aumen officiating. The family will receive friends at a viewing one hour prior. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. The funeral service will be live streamed at PanebakerFuneralHome.com beginning at 11AM.
In compliance with health and public safety directives, those attending will be required to wear masks, be socially distanced and attendance inside the funeral home will be limited.
