Peggy Lee Rummel,“Liza”, 64, of Hanover, wife of Melvin L. Rummel, entered into God’s eternal care on Monday, June 17, 2013 after becoming ill unexpectedly at her home.
Born on August 17, 1948 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Clarence E. and Beatrice E. Bankert Dehoff. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Carol Dehoff and a granddaughter, Erica Rummel.
She was a graduate of South Western High School and was a member of Harvest Time Temple. A woman with a strong Christian faith, she and her husband fostered over 100 children in their 46 years of marriage. She loved reading and collected many books, some of which she sold on her eBay store which she managed for many years. An avid and organized coupon collector, she enjoyed the thrill of saving money at the store.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Eric Rummel and his wife, Julie, Brian Rummel and his wife, Michelle and Martin Rummel and his fiancée, Mindy Rishel; a daughter, Holly Warner; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Phyllis Crisfulli and Joyce Humbert and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 11 am Friday, June 21, 2013 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc. Burial will follow in Marburg Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
