Pearl E. Leese, 89, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Hanover Hall Nursing Center.
Born on Saturday, May 30, 1925 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Harry A. and Beulah Sell Feeser. She was a seamstress at various Hanover businesses.
Mrs. Leese was an active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church where she led the sewing workshop that made quilts for those in need and was also a member of the bereavement committee. She was a member of the Hanover Elks BPOE #762 Ladies Auxiliary, and the Penn Township Lioness Club where had served as a chaplain. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed being with her family and going to family picnics.
Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Calvin H. Leese; two daughters, Barbara A. Smith and her husband, William, of Milton, DE and Cheryl F. Krout and her husband, Eugene, of Downingtown; five grandchildren, David Smith of Glen Rock, James Smith of Littlestown, Joel Smith of Abbottstown, Matthew Krout of Chalfont, and Crystal Kutteh of Downingtown; and seven great-grandchildren, Samantha, Dylan and Ryan Smith of Glen Rock, Yaeger Smith of Abbottstown, Amanda Krout of Chalfont, and Joseph and Elizabeth Kutteh of Downington; a sister, Doris Lewis of Takoma Park, MD; and two brothers, Donald Feeser of Hanover and Kenneth Feeser of Pleasant Gap.
The funeral will be held at 11 am Saturday, March 7, 2015 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 W. Chestnut Street, Hanover with The Rev. Kathryn Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be David, James and Joel Smith, Matthew Krout, and Kevin and Matthew Feeser.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11 am Saturday in the church parlor.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice of Hanover and Spring Grove, 440 N. Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
