Pauline Geiman Weisensale, 95, of Hanover, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday March 20, 2016 at SpiriTrust Lutheran Utz Terrace.
Polly was born April 13,1920 in Carroll County Maryland. The daughter of Grover C. and Esta V. (Utz) Geiman, she lived nearly all her life in Hanover, PA. Polly graduated from Hanover High School in 1937. It was there that she met the love of her life and husband of 75 years, Earl K. "Sparky" Weisensale.
Polly and Spark have three children: Ellen L. Hostetter (Carl), Kenneth M. Weisensale (Sharon), and Jay A. Weisensale (Anne). She is survived by five grandchildren: Christopher, Matthew, Devon, Izetta, and Hannah, her four great grandchildren and their foreign exchange student from Iceland, Thorhalleur Maack. They all greatly mourn her loss.
In her younger days Polly worked in the offices at Hanover Shoe. She was later employed at Farmers Bank.
Polly was a member of St. David's Lutheran Church. She was very active in her faith all of her life. For many years she headed the summer Bible School at St. David's. One year she even carried her youngest child on her hip while she ran the program. She also was a member of Church Council for three years.
She was active in the Hanover community as a member of the Garden Club and a member and past president of the YWCA. Polly was also an avid card player. She especially liked Bridge and Hand & Foot. She enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and abroad but her greatest pleasure was her family and spending time with them.
Her memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at St. David's Lutheran Church, 1032 Musselman Rd. Hanover with the Rev. LaDonna Thomas officiating.
There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Polly's name to SpiriTrust Lutheran, 2100 Utz Terrace, Hanover, PA 17331.
The family wishes to thank Pastor LaDonna and the SpiriTrust Skilled Care and Hospice staff for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time.
