Pauline J. “Polly” Hemler Todt, 88, of Edgegrove, entered into God’s eternal care on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at her home.
Born on Saturday, July 31, 1926 in Edgegrove, she was a daughter of the late Herbert P. and Mary Jane Livelsberger Hemler. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Raymond E. Todt, who died in 2002; two brothers, Joseph H. Hemler and Donald F. Hemler; two sisters, Betty L. Koelling and Geraldine E. Larkin; and a son-in-law, James A. “Jim” Baumgardner. Mrs. Todt was a retired employee of Freeman Shoe Company with 22 years of service, and was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish.
Survivors include her five children, Raymond E. Todt, Jr. and his wife, Sandra, of Baldwinsville, NY, Elaine M. Miller and her husband, Michael, Stephanie A. Baumgardner, Melanie S. Todt and Carol A. Bair all of Hanover; four brothers, Harold A. Hemler of Cato, NY, Robert J. Hemler of Cranbury, NJ, John G. Hemler and George W. Hemler, both of Hanover; three sisters, Dolorous C. Dempster of Orange Park, FL, and Shirley A. Crouse of Hanover, and Phyllis M. Reynolds of McSherrystown; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at at 10 am Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Basilica with The Rev. Joseph R. Howard celebrating and The Rev. Lawrence J. McNeil concelebrating. Burial will follow in the Conewago Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held from 6 to 8 pm Friday at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover. A prayer service will follow the viewing at 8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Basilica, 30 Basilica Drive, Hanover, PA 17331 or to the VNA Hospice of Hanover and Spring Grove, 440 N. Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
