Pauline L. (Polly) Hart, 95, of Hanover, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 after a brief illness.
Born on Tuesday, November 7, 1922 in Shillington, Polly lived most of her life in Reading before moving to Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover three years ago. The only child of Herbert and Emily Behler Brossman, she attended Shillington High School and was a graduate of Albright College, where she was a member of the Phi Delta Sigma Honorary Alumnae Sorority. She was a Home Economics teacher in the Antietam and Exeter Schools for over 20 years.
Polly was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Richard I. (Dick) Hart, Sr. Together, they enjoyed a wonderful marriage that included traveling, dancing, playing bridge and enjoying many wonderful friendships. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and pleasant disposition.
Survivors include a daughter, Corrie Bankert and her husband, James, of Hanover; a son, Richard I. Hart, Jr. of Reading; four grandchildren, William Walb III, Richard I. Hart III, Chelsea and Brecken Hart and two great-grandchildren, Aurora and Jasper Hart.
Following a private burial in Forest Hills Memorial Park in Reading, a memorial service to celebrate Polly’s life will be held at 11:30 am Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Pennside Presbyterian Church, 253 North 25th Street, Reading, PA 19606 with The Rev. David J. Duquette officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Pennside Presbyterian Church in her memory.
